The Best DPS Characters In Genshin Impact
20
Chongyun
- Element: Cryo
- Weapon: Claymore
Currently one of the most reliable cryo DPS characters, Chongyun is awesome when paired with the right support (hydro) and the right claymore. His spin attack can also be uninterrupted with hydro support in the party like Barbara as Chongyun's Elemental Skill can lay down a small freezing field. Moreover, Chongyun's Elemental Burst is likely the fastest DPS burst in the game. They're literally a bunch of ice swords that drop at one spot in less than a second. It easily makes Chongyun one of the most sought-after characters when pulling off multiple elemental combos.
19
Noelle
- Element: Geo
- Weapon: Claymore
Noelle might not be the best at what she does, but she can fill in many roles in the party while players wait for a dedicated healer or DPS from their wishes. It just so happens that Noelle's claymore spin attacks paired with her Breatsplate Elemental Skill make her a passable damage dealer.Unlike with other characters who use claymores, Noelle's spin is much harder to interrupt thanks to Breastplate. That makes her sustain good DPS better than most characters especially if built right (C6 version). If that's not enough, then her Elemental Burst can ensure tons of damage for a decent duration.
18
Fischl
- Element: Electro
- Weapon: Bow
Fischl started off as all-around support back in 2020 but, when players discovered that her C6 version turns her pet crow Oz into a Gatling gun, things changed, fast. Now we have Fischl players dealing thousands of both physical and electro damage in late-game domains. Moreover, Fischl's ranged capabilities make her survivability better - meaning more consistent damage. She's also more flexible than most other DPS options since her abilities stay on the battlefield even if you switch characters.
17
Xingqiu
- Element: Hydro
- Weapon: Sword
Xingqiu is quite an underrated gem when it comes to dealing damage. There is no denying the fact that he's high up there in many people's tier lists, particularly for the sub-DPS category and option which is unofficial.Even his normal attacks can easily stagger or stun-lock certain enemies, particularly the small ones. Meanwhile, his hydro damage is what makes him shine the most on the battlefield as he can easily deal tens of thousands of damage on his own.
16
Ningguang
- Element: Geo
- Weapon: Catalyst
Ningguang is an awesome DPS character, but she's near the bottom for the same reason as Noelle: the geo element. At the moment, it's currently the least useful or exciting out of all the elements in Genshin Impact.Ningguang can be a good damage dealer on her own, but when other DPS characters are playing with fire, ice, or electricity and can easily chain together insane elemental reactions, then Ningguang becomes less useful in the party DPS slot.
15
Razor
- Element: Electro
- Weapon: Claymore
Klee's best friend ever, Razor, is a four-star character who might have been better off as a five-star given how much damage he can do (both physical and electro). Some players might be put off with his charge mechanic which has a steeper learning curve. But in the right hands, Razor is a decent alternative to Diluc.Razor's Elemental Skill is similar to Beidou's and has a hold mechanic that can transform into an AoE bomb. As for how Razor can be easily mistaken for a five-star character? That would be thanks to his Elemental Burst which gives him a spirit wolf that does electro damage on top of his physical and boosts his attack speed. This burst's availability can then be improved with Razor's elemental skill, overall, he has one of the best ability synergies in the game.
14
Zhongli
- Element: Geo
- Weapon: Polearm
With the recent buffs to geo damage, Zhongli has become quite a monster along with Ningguang. Now, both of them are in-demand in late-game or level 90 domains. Zhongli's most valuable ability, his Elemental Burst, deals five to six digits of damage effortlessly. It also petrifies any target in the area of effect. While his synergy is a little rigid and is mostly reserved for other geo characters, Zhongli's shield generation also makes him a valuable member of any party.
13
Keqing
- Element: Electro
- Weapon: Sword
Keqing is one of Razor's toughest competitions when it comes to electro damage. However, Keqing can be less complicated especially with her Elemental Skill, which not only damages enemies but marks those who remain alive. Keqing can then do a blink strike to any enemy that's marked. That automatically makes her one of the most enjoyable characters to play since her offense gives her innate evasiveness. Her Elemental Burst allows her to deal massive electro damage to the whole battlefield which is faster than Razor's melee-only shenanigans.
12
Xiangling
- Element: Pyro
- Weapon: Polearm
Xiangling can be better than Chongyun since she's a lot more mobile and doesn't care much even if her enemies move out of her skill range. Her Elemental Skill, Gouba, is a consistent pyro barrage that can make quick work of enemy shields.Meanwhile, her Elemental Burst just clears out battlefields in a wide enough AoE around Xiangling. Coupled with some fast jabs with her spear and the proper elemental reactions, Xiangling can be a good alternative to Diluc.
11
Tartaglia
- Element: Hydro
- Weapon: Bow
Tartaglia - or Childe - is one of the best bow-users in the game who isn't confined to one convention of damage dealing. He can swap out his weapons thanks to his borderline unfair skill. What makes him even more advantageous apart from having the luxury of multiple damage types without using his abilities is that vaporize deals a ton of damage. So, pair Tartaglia with a pyro character and watch those numbers rise along with the steam.
10
Yoimiya
- Element: Pyro
- Weapon: Bow
Yoimiya was one of the most troubled releases for Genshin Impact as a lot of the players critiqued her playstyle focus. On one hand, her Elemental Skill focuses on enhancing her Pyro damage. On the other hand, her Elemental Burst is more or less a support ability for the party.Nevertheless, those who learned to build Yoimiya for the mode they want ended up with a decently efficient character. She might not be on the same level as someone like Ganyu but no one really is in Genshin Impact. At the very least, everyone got a better Pyro user and won't have to endure Amber anymore.
9
Beidou
- Element: Electro
- Weapon: Claymore
Beidou is an electro character who might also double as a situational tank. She doesn't have that special stun-locking spin-attack that most claymore-wielders do but she makes up for it with robust electro abilities. For starters, Beidou can absorb damage with her Elemental Skill and then release it for a devastating AoE electro attack. On top of that, her Elemental Burst allows her attacks to give off a chain-lightning frequently and makes her tankier.
8
Klee
- Element: Pyro
- Weapon: Catalyst
Klee can easily invalidate pyro damage dealers like Xiangling -- especially for those looking for pure fire damage. She can summon tons of bombs/mines in order to clear out packs of enemies without much effort. If that's not enough, Klee's Elemental Burst will ensure that anyone who survives the bombs she throws around nonchalantly is toast. It will summon an entity called "Sparks 'n Splash" that will keep bombarding Klee's enemies with pyro damage. The downside is that Klee only deals pure pyro meaning pyro-resistant enemies can be troublesome for her.
7
Diluc
- Element: Pyro
- Weapon: Claymore
The fabled Diluc is currently considered by the community to be the simplest DPS available. That's because Diluc's pyro damage stacks easily and hits like a train multiple times making it great against swarms of enemies or bosses. His Elemental Burst? He unleashes a fire phoenix that keeps pushing into enemies, damaging them until it explodes. His Elemental Skill can also be used thrice before it enters a short cooldown that it's no wonder why this redhead was one of the most sought-after characters, even prompting players to fork out thousands of dollars.
6
Arataki Itto
- Element: Geo
- Weapon: Claymore
It's about time Genshin Impact introduced a five-star Geo character that focuses on DPS. In that regard, Arataki Itto slaps - both literally and figuratively. He can unleash tons of Geo damage in quick succession using his abilities. Moreover, he easily synergizes with Geo characters for that sweet resonance. It also helps a lot that he gets his own weapon that's tailormade for him. Only one other character can maximize it and that's Noelle. With Itto's signature weapon, she becomes a monster. So you can imagine what Itto will become with the right tool in his hands.
5
Xiao
- Element: Anemo
- Weapon: Polearm
Xiao is the closest thing to a berserker-type character in Genshin Impact in the sense that his Elemental Burst ability can be left on indefinitely. This grants him Anemo damage with boosts but also drains his health. The drawback isn't really that bad considering there are tons of healers in Genshin Impact.Coupled with his spear, Xiao can be an absolute boss killer. When not relying on his Elemental Burst, his Elemental Skill also allows him to zoom past battlefields while doing damage along the way and can be used midair, quite rare for a skill.
4
Eula
- Element: Cryo
- Weapon: Claymore
At the moment, Eula still holds the current highest record for the single biggest attack damage done in Genshin Impact. In the right configuration, she can dish out a jaw-dropping six million points of physical damage. This does happen in one second and is debatable whether it counts as DPS or not but one thing is for certain: anyone who gets hit by that and doesn't have a shield is going down. While you shouldn't expect your typical Eula to deal that much damage, the point is, she has some remarkable overhead that trickles down well even in budget or the cheapest builds. Heck, even without her Elemental Burst, Eula will still hit hard and hit often.
3
Ayaka
- Element: Cryo
- Weapon: Sword
Ayaka's fans spent a long time patiently waiting for her to arrive along with the Inazuma expansion and she didn't disappoint. In fact, she went well above and beyond expectations. Now, she's part of the top five or even top three DPS characters in Genshin Impact. It's her consistent streams of CRIT damage and incredible potential for permanent freeze compositions that make her shine. By far, that makes her the most versatile DPS as she can deal crowd control while also cutting down her enemies to frozen little ice cubes.
2
Hu Tao
- Element: Pyro
- Weapon: Polearm
Hu Tao might annoy most people in Liyue but she's a champion in the hearts of her fanboys and fangirls. That's because apart from being a peculiar menace of a girl, she also deals huge damage. Hu Tao is currently the best Pyro DPS available in Genshin Impact. She's dethroned Diluc and Klee even early in her release date. Pair her with a Hydro support and you can watch her poke some hot holes into enemy bosses until they wither down in a few seconds. To that end, she's an endgame staple and one of the strongest in the current meta.
1
Ganyu
- Element: Cryo
- Weapon: Bow
Alas, some of the more established DPS characters in Genshin Impact have finally been dethroned as the highest consistent damage dealer in the game. At least that's what's according to some crazy theory-crafting maths. Ganyu, with her absolutely broken frost charge attack for her bow, can deal five to six digits of damage every three seconds or so.She doesn't even need another element to reach such numbers. Also unlike Xiao or Hu Tao, she doesn't lose health while doing that much damage and also does it from a safe range.
